In the final event of the year, Princeton Yeo has finished in 2nd place in the HSBC Youth Challenge at Laguna National. This caps off a great year for Princeton ensuring his selection into the National Development Team for 2012. Although no longer under my coaching, Billie Pay finished in 3rd place also ensuring him a place in the team. Well done boys.

Leonard Tee finished in 2nd place in the 12-14 division and his recent form suggests a big year coming up in 2012.

Marc Ong has won the boys Under 16 division Faldo Series Singapore Championship at Tanah Merah. After some indifferent form in 2011, Edgar Oh finished with a final round of 69 to come in 3rd place and hopefully regain some needed confidence for the remainder of 2011.

Students Princeton Yeo and Billie Pay have qualified in the top 16 for the Singapore National Amateur Championship at Raffles Country Club. Unfortunately the boys had to play each other in the opening matchplay round with Princeton prevailing 4 & 2. Princeton was taken down by National player Jerome Ng in the next round 3 & 2 but a great result as he continues his way up the national rankings.

Peter Senior wins Australian PGA Championship.

Peter Senior has won the Australian Pga Championship on the second playoff hole. He made and birdied the final hole in regulation play to force a playoff with Geoff Ogilvy who shot 66 in the final round.

But after both narrowly missed birdie putts when they returned to the 18th for the first extra hole, Ogilvy three-putted for bogey leaving Senior to claim his third PGA title with par, following on from his 1989 and 2003 triumphs, the last of them at Coolum in 2003. Congratulations Pete on an awesome win !!!!

First win for Dion Lim

Dion captured her first victory at the HSBC Junior Challenge at Laguna with a great closing round 74. Dion has had a couple of runner-up finishes this year and after breaking her wrist a few months ago, it was a great way to end 2010. Well done Dion

Edgar, 14, is youngest in the field.

Meeting Colin Montgomerie.

On my way back to Singapore from Melbourne I was lucky to meet Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie. We were both on board the same Emirates flight. Colin had been in Melbourne displaying the Ryder Cup. I was chatting to the air hostess and when she discovered I was a golf pro heading to Singapore, she informed me that Monty was on the same flight. She then organised a meeting and to my suprise he was a great guy. Contrary to his potrayal by the media. We had a good chat and hope to catch up with again at the Singapore Open.
